Hüdig & Rocholz

This year's anniversary of the family-owned company, Hüdig+Rocholz, the leading manufacturer of ergonomic workplace systems, is merely a milestone in the firm's one-hundred-year process of evolution.

In 1904, the company was founded by Otto Hüdig, one of the many entrepreneurs in the region at that time to commence production of lock and small hardware components. Shortly afterwards, he developed the first paper dispenser to reflect market requirements, followed by dispensers and cutters for ribbon and packaging tape.

Encouraged by the positive mood that swept Germany during the fifties, Walter Rocholz, representing the second generation of the family, developed two new and very successful lines of business: automotive parts production and the manufacture of special packing tables with cutting devices for industrial and retail dispatch departments.

His sons, Gerd and Winfried Rocholz, continued to develop new products in the areas of packaging technology and workplace systems for internal logistics on this basis. The company sailed through the new challenges that emerged due to market globalisation in the seventies as a result of its commitment to high standards of "quality in form". These standards are one aspect of the 'performance specification' for the company's next stage of development, which is currently in full swing.
